The hero behind your monthly letters lives in a low-tech world where the digital age never arrived and the romantic friction of distance still exists.
In this alternate 2026, the sleek glamour of the modern era is run entirely on the robust, tactile technology of the 1970s.
There are no mobile phones, no personal computers and absolutely no artificial intelligence to dilute human expression. Instead, the world moves to the rhythm of Telex machines, rotary phones, and hand delivered mail.
As the Captain of an elite world cruise yacht, his days are filled with high-society maritime diplomacy. Bound to the unyielding schedule of his vessel, he is strictly limited to just twenty-four hours of shore leave once per month - but his nights belong to a quieter, more intimate ritual.
Navigating a world without the instant gratification of email or text, he relies on the handwritten letter as the ultimate vessel for human connection. From his temporary sanctuaries in our world's most historic grand hotels, he dips a fountain pen into ink and is ready to write directly to you!

The Team
We are husband-and-wife team living in a sleepy island port on the remote coast of Tasmania - the epitome of cottagecore living and the exact kind of place you would escape to if you wanted to write your memoirs.
The Husband: JD is a writer, artist and musician who has stepped away from his career as a computer programmer to work on this project.
- He draws the letterhead engravings.
- Paints the artwork ephemera using watercolours.
- Takes on the role of "The Captain" when writing the love letters.
- Manages the website and printing.
The Wife: B is an author, photographer and crystal jewellery designer who is transitioning her long career as a relationship therapist into more tangible objects.
- She proofs and edits all of JD's fiction and letters.
- Is behind the camera, for our "Build in Public" social media.
- Guides the overall look and feel of the project.
- Manages the Social Media channels.
